Met up with my good friend Michelle to eat, talk, listen, eat, listen, talk and start it all over again, in a different order.  

We both order the Tortelli con Mais e Pomodorini Gialli which had polenta and sweet corn filled ravioli, arrigoni taleggio DOP and sungold tomato. This dish was so good that I'm thinking of a quick return.  The sauce was creamy and smooth as well as the ravioli was cooked to perfection as well as delicious.     

The decor is crisp, clean and modern.

How about I return in a couple of weeks, yes to reorder the same dish.  Maybe eventually I will move on to something else on the menu.  But for now, Tortelli con Mais e Pomodorini Gialli is calling my name.

My daughter Stacey invited me to lunch at Skirt Steak one grand summer afternoon.  Skirt Steak has a Price Fixe of $30.  

This was indeed an interesting and rustic yet modern looking restaurant with really great service.  Our waiter Eddie introduced himself and when I was seated, Eddie took my cloth table napkin and draped it across my lap.  Talking about service.  

Now please listen up.  The garlic bread was absolutely without a doubt soooo good!!!  Be careful because you will gladly fill up on the bread.   The salad was crispy, fresh and the seasoning with perfect. Next came the skirt steak which I ordered well done.  Tender, sing a song of seasonings, juicy and a hop skip and jump good.  Endless fries.  Endless fries.  Endless fries, wonderful!

Such a wonderful afternoon.

Following my granddaughter Skye graduation, we ventured to Twisted Sage Cafe for a celebration.  

I absolutely adored the spanish style building.  

I had big old fat breakfast burrito that consisted of 2 scramble eggs, red potatoes, scallions, I asked for american cheese instead of cheddar, and applewood smoked bacon.  Now for my next visit, I'm try it with chorizo and next chicken sausage.  Needless to say, did I finish it all... I gave it a good old college try, but no, like I said big old fat breakfast burrito.  Good big old fat breakfast burrito.

Our server Trevor needs his own tv live show.  He is not only a great server, but an really good entertainer, hilarious.  He has his own way of breaking down the menu with suggestions, which you should listen to him, he was right on point.  One of the best servers I have had the pleasure of meeting.  

As they say on the website So Here's The Story....  Classic Americana with a "Twist".  Go and see for yourself and enjoy the laid back atmosphere with wonderful food.

We smelled the aroma before actually seeing the restaurant, we just followed our noses.  My daughter Teria, grandson Demetric, granddaughter Cherokee and I waited only 30 minutes for a table, surprised because it was crowded.  

I ordered had the smoked wings, french fries with a side of cole slaw.  You could taste the smoked habanero honey, bbq and the sweet cilantro chili.  This is no time for manners and go ahead and lick your fingers.

If you sit outside you will have a great view of the ocean and they have live country music.  The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is lively.  Next time I'm there, I'm ask if they can play t "Tennesse Whiskey".

When you first heard the name "Mess Hall" you kind of think of where the, Army, Navy and  Marines eat.  But once it was made clear that it is a market food hall with different assortments of food cooked by different chefs I was ready.  

My daughter Teria, granddaughters Cherokee & Skye and I went and I thought that it was just a food hall, no it also has a full size bar, outdoor dining area, bbq grill, ping pong table, large park, bean bag toss, fireplace and a park.  I liked it so much that I returned the very next day.

Th first day I had the Chicken Tinga from Taqueria with an hibiscus drink.   This dish consisted of shredded chicken, beans, cabbage, rice, potatoes and chips.  So good.  And I finished it all.

My second time I ordered from Vaka Burger and of course I had the Vaka Burger.  So juicy and tender, even the brioche bun was soft.  Return trip is in order.

The Mess Hall has a little of something for everyone:  Vaka Burger, Anepalco Modern Mexican, The Sandwich Society, Another Kind Cafe, The Little Greek, The Lost Bean, Big Parm, SlapFish and Foul Play.

Stop and visit for a while, you're be back.
