But on your way stop and browse at the store.  Love the old-fashioned candy. You must look hard in order to locate this restaurant.  It’s located in a small strip mall and the lettering on the door is not large.  But it’s worth the ride.  We ordered the honey BBQ wings and mac n cheese take out. Not much to say except everything was quite good and you will lick your fingers.  Love the taste of the sauce on the wings and the mac n cheese was favorable.  The people who work there are good at what they do, from the person who takes your order to the people who you see in the kitchen.  You are made to feel welcome.  I will return the next time I’m in Mesa Arizona and try their other dishes.

Tuesday, April 18, 2023 @ 7:00 pm   The area this restaurant is located is fun and very lively.  We were told that this is one of the best soul food restaurants in Phoenix.  I do have to say that our waiter Ryan was cheerful, knew the menu, had suggestions, and very friendly.  We ordered the Famous Soul Food Platter (fried chicken) served with 2 sides and cornbread or biscuit, chicken tender and mac and cheese.  They have a sign that says “This ain’t your momma’s chicken”.  I was disappointed as was the rest of my group.  My potato salad had a lot of mayonnaise, not much taste, the chicken was very crusty and hard, again not much taste.  The mac and cheese had something orange in it (I don’t think it was cheese) that we couldn’t decipher but it didn’t taste good.  One of my daughters really didn’t like her food and the manager who was very cordial and helpful tried to get her to try something else.  He mentioned grits and that was ok.  We left most of our food on our plates.  We were so disappointed. Let me begin by saying that the hotel this restaurant is located within is fabulous!!  Stumming views of Arizona’s Sierra Estrella Mountains.  I had to apologize to myself on my last day of stay there.  But I digress.  Early morning, we ventured downstairs to Ko’sin and upon entering the restaurant, you’ll see desert patterns and local native art on the wall.  Ko’sin means ‘kitchen’ in the Pima language (native American).  Our host greeted us and explained that we can either order from the menu or serve ourselves at the buffet.  Our waitress Megham was very personable, helpful and great at what she does.  We chose the buffet.  We took a little bit of this, a lot of that and some of those and went back for more.  Fresh fruit, bread, native granola (oh so good!!), eggs, sausages, bread pudding, smoked salmon, assorted cured meats and fine cheeses, composed salad, bagels, assorted croissants, danishes and mini muffins. Rosemary potatoes, bacon, ham, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, tazo tea, juice, milk, soft drinks, bloody mary, mimosa, regular or decaf coffee and more.  Wonderful food and great ambience.
