Getting in a last minute summer excursion with my granddaughter Alana, we met for lunch on a great day to chat it up and get our laughs on.  Upon arrival we were seated upstairs and greeted by Ms. Tymiese, our waitress who was very personable.  The restaurant wasn’t crowded so I was able to peak at a couple of other tables.  Benihana is known for its theatrical chefs.  The only theatrical thing that I witnessed was a 3 ring tower of onions set on fire.  No flipping food into the top of their hats like they used to.  At the table next to me, I saw a chef bang the salt and pepper mill a couple of times on the grill and that was it.

We were served a slightly wilted salad before our meal, a lukewarm onion soup and three grilled shrimps.  Alana had hibachi steak and I had the spicy hibachi chicken with chicken fried rice.  Both of our dishes were ok.

I came, I ate, I saw, I went.  End of story.

I’m back!!!  My daughter Brandy & I watched this restaurant under construction then open, we planned on going.  So, I went months later.  Because I spoke about this place and its great food, we went.  Yea!!!  Let me tell you, customer service is the emphasis of great.  Leah our waitress is a jewel.  Total professional, knowledgeable, humorous, suitably attentive and paid attention to details.   

I ordered the roasted tomato flatbread, yes indeed.  The roasted tomatoes, oh my, mozzarella, and fresh basil.  As they say in the south, now that’s some good eatin’.  Brandy had the filet mignon and Maine lobster tail with mashed potatoes and french green beans.  Me, I had the cedar plank roasted (Norwegian) salmon, with french green beans, marble potatoes with a dill mustard sauce.  Let me sum it up.  Everything, and I mean everything was sooooo good. This was a kickoff your shoes, slump down in your seat, reminisce, relax, look cool moment, then think about returning, soon. 

Jerry the manager stopped at our table to see how everything is going and he has such an upbeat attitude, team spirited, funny, and great customer service skills. 

Without a doubt we will be back, many times.  I must tell you this, where we sat you could see the kitchen, chefs placing food on the countertop warming table, chicken on the rotisserie, parade of servers exiting the kitchen, passing our table carrying trays of food, so we got confused.  Everything looked and smelled very good and then we started changing our minds about what we ordered.  It was a funny experience.

From the beginning to the end, you will experience hospitable hosts, delicious food, great presentation, great chefs, and yes, great décor.  Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and we’ll be back soon!
