Sunday.  August 18, 2019.  Evening.  Walking with my two grandchildren Demetric and Cherokee.  Noticed a sign.  Old Spaghetti Factory.  Been to several in the U.S. San Diego California.  Rancho Cucamonga, California.

Already knew what I was going to order, penne with chicken.  The chicken was sauteed and cut into pieces, gathered together with peppers, mushrooms and penned noodles that is tossed in a white wine basil cream sauce.  Light.  Tasty.  Good atmosphere.  Great customer service.  Fun.  Not hurried.  Crowded.  Lively.  Noodles al dente. Firm to the bite.  Chicken breast, sauteed, flavorable.  Mushrooms, tender.  Time to leave. Moon brightly shinning.  Walk slowly back to hotel.  Walk by the water.  Relax.  Conversate.  Enter hotel.  Get ready for another adventurous day.

Hours:

Sunday - 11am - 9 pm

Tacos - Pollo asado (chicken) - $3.95

This was my second visit to a Los Tacos.  First one was with Altagarcia in the Times Square Area (229 W. 43rd Street - bet. 7th and 8th Avenue).  So when then opened one downtown and I had a taste for a tacos, where do you think I went?  Los Tacos #1 in Tribeca.

It was busy but the way you order is that you give your order, they hand you a ticket and you wait in line.  Then the cook asks for your ticket, you then get to watch them prepare your order.  There you go.

If you want other toppings, they have them on the side.  The chicken was moist, liked the toppings and the tortilla.

You want a quick bite, good food fresh and cheap this is where you go.

One day in the summer of 2019 I was looking to see what I can adventures I can do for the weekend, I found an advertisement regarding the Food Truck Festival that was being held on 77th - 78th street & Columbus Avenue.  Soooo, that Saturday on a warm day, my daughter Stacey and I ventured on down to the Food Truck Festival to check it out.  What we found was quite interesting and the problem became "what to try".  I decided on Angry Archie's.

Surprisingly for a food truck the crab cake was jumbo lump meat, fresh, flaky, light, no fillers, dijon mustard, old bay seasoning, and golden brown with a spicy aioli (garlic, mayonnaise) and citrus crema sauce on a toasted potato bun.  The binder tasted like panko but it could have been well grinded saltine crackers or Italian bread crumbs, but it was the perfect mixture.

Once I finished eating we decided to try Bona Bona's Ice Cream Truck.  After waiting on line for about 15-20 minutes, line was long, I ordered a vanilla and Stacey had the chocolate ice cream cone but we ate it without it being toasted as you can see from the strawberry ice cream.  Fresh, cold, taste the vanilla bean, very good and friendly customer service.  We had a good time, especially since it was nice and hot outside.  So if you see the truck, wave it down and treat yourself to a good old fashioned ice cream cone.

On the road back to Baja

On Saturday, August 31st as part of our 9 hour Grand Baja Mexico Tour by Five Star Tours, we stopped at Angel Del Mar Restaurant which was included in our tour price.   This restaurant sits right next to the beach and when you first entered you walk through the indoor part of the restaurant, then out into the outdoor dining area and you catch your first view of the ocean.  Beautiful.   As we were directed to the lower level dining area you get to see another picturesque view of the ocean.  No matter where you sat, that was your view.

The dining experience left a lot to be desired.  After entering with my daughter Teria, granddaughters Skye and Cherokee and with the rest of our fellow riders, we walked through the first floor onto the outdoor dining area, down the stairs to our seating area.   We were seated almost immediately, and the waitress says "chicken, lobster or beef".  You can order only 3 things because it is a set menu for buses, I ordered the chicken.  After placing our orders, we waited and waited and waited and waited and waited.............. and waited, and waited and waited.  One hour.  Still waiting.  Yet Juan sat down to eat while half of the bus waited over one and a half hour for our food.  We ask to speak to the manager and when ask why the long delay he stated "I don't know what to tell you" and walked away.  Ha!  What do you say.  You are in another country and you do want to represent your country and be respectful yet cool.  But.  Your mind is saying something else.  Yet, our waitress was very friendly, polite and she kept apologizing.  Can't say that for the rest of the wait staff.

Your choice was either chicken or carne asada.  The chicken was bland and the rice, beans and flour tortillas that come with your food were good but the beans were a bit soupy.  I had the chicken which was very bland but the rice and beans were good, so that's what I ate.  No amount of salt and pepper enhanced the chicken.  My daughter stated that the carne asada was just ok.

Puerto Nuevo is a community located in Rosarito Beach Municipality in the Mexican state of Baja California; it's know as the "Lobster Village" of Baja California.

This is a small fishing village and the majority of the village's shops and restaurants are located in the northern section.  As you walk around, you will see a lot and I do mean a lot of different seafood restaurants as well as the traditional Mexican food.  Most of the restaurants serve their local specialty the Puerto Nuevo style lobster.

While wandering around you will see storefronts, street vendors shops selling the local handicrafts, gifts and souvenirs.

Paseo del Mar, the waterfront promenade has is a great viewing place to see the Pacific Ocean.  Puerto Nuevo for me was good for a one day tour.  If you visit Puerto Nuevo Mexico try another restaurant.  What I did enjoy was seating on the terrace while eating with a view of the sea listening to to the live music.

If I had the option to come back to eat my answer would be, no.  For the views, yes.
